Below is a list of the more frequently asked questions. If you don’t see your question, feel free to send an email to email@example.com.
Is DONTSETTLE.org a non-profit?
No. It’s a website property owned by TRO, Inc., a Tennessee S-Corp.
So why did you choose to use the “.org” extension?
There are three main reasons we chose to use “.org” as the extension:
- The “.org” extension is often used for non-profits. However, it was also intended to be used by organizations that were for-profit. We see DONTSETTLE.org as more of an organization of like-minded people on a mission to create lives of significance that they don’t have to escape from. Therefore, we felt that the “.org” extension fit better with our organization and mission.
- The “.com” extension was already owned and is being sold for an absurd amount of money. Dropping that kind of cash on the domain at this stage would have been stupid. We don’t like stupid.
- DONTSETTLE.org has a pretty cool ring to it. In some ways, we like the sound of it better than DONTSETTLE.com. Maybe it’s just us.
Do you have a mission statement?
Sort of. We’re working on clearly defining our mission into an “official” statement that provides meaning and value to what we’re trying to do. It will be posted here when we feel like it’s ready.
In the meantime, here’s the non-refined, way too wordy version:
We believe that too many people live lives from which they’re always trying to escape because they’ve settled for not trying to be exceptional in one or more areas of their lives. Be it career, finances, relationships, health, faith, or personal development, people are accepting mediocre and average and they’re suffering as a result.
We believe that every person was created for a reason and that part of finding your purpose begins by looking yourself in the mirror and telling yourself, “DON’T SETTLE!”
We exist to empower people through practical education, resources and tools to create lives of purpose by using biblical principles.
